Why eco-wool in particular

  • Eco-wool “breathes”: moisture doesn’t collect in the layer, so the insulation doesn’t get wet or turn into an “ice” crust. No separate vapour barrier is needed.

  • In summer heat many insulation materials can give off harmful vapours. Eco-wool’s composition is safe: even strong heating in the sun doesn’t make the air in your house hazardous.

Mykolaiv’s private sector

The Tsentralnyi, Zavodskyi, Korabelnyi and Inhulskyi districts have many private houses of brick, cinder block, aerated block and shell-rock, as well as timber and frame ones. We don’t insulate solid walls with eco-wool, but we cover the attic, roof, ceilings and floor with a continuous layer – that’s usually where a lot of heat leaves.

In timber and frame houses we blow eco-wool into every cavity of the walls, ceilings and roof: the layer comes out even, with no gaps, and doesn’t settle. A dacha or an old house can be insulated in stages – from the attic to the walls.

Wind, damp and heat

The city stands on the Southern Buh by the estuary: winters are windy and raw, summers hot. A seamless layer of eco-wool blocks drafts, “breathes” without collecting moisture and slows the mansard’s heating in summer.

    Waste paper, the raw material for ecowool

    We start with waste paper type МС-8В-2 (DSTU-3500-97)

    Fully recycled paper like this makes a durable, safe insulation of the right density. Our eco-wool is gray; its cellulose base doesn’t settle and keeps its insulating power for decades.

    Boric acid and borax, the fire and pest protection added to ecowool

    We split it into cellulose (81%) and add boric acid (12%) and borax (7%)

    Boric acid is a flame retardant and antiseptic, borax an antiseptic and insecticide: together they hold back fungus, mould, cockroaches and other insects. Made to TU U 38.1-37800971-001:2014.
